and Careers This course is designed to provide a basic overview of current business and information systems, and trends. It introduces students to the basic skills and foundations required for today’s business environments. Emphasis is placed on developing proficiency in an information–based society. Keyboarding & Business Skills Students in this course learn the touch method of keyboarding and an introduction to word processing. Computer Programming Games and Simulation Design This course covers fundamental principles of designing a game or a simulation application. Rules and strategies of play, conditional branching, design and development constraints, use of sound and animation, design tools, and implementation tools are included. on a programming and advanced computer concepts. It focuses primarily on programming in the Java language. This course following the course outline and covers content specified by the College Board – AP Central. Students are required to take the first semester exam and the Advanced Placement Test in Computer Science. Games will be created using Flash and Java. NOTE: Students who complete Computing for College and Careers and 2 more years of Accounting, Digital Design, or Web Design with an over-all 3.0 GPA and 3.5 GPA in the Business courses may qualify for a Bright Futures Gold Seal Scholarship. Digital Design 1 This course is designed to develop the entry level skills required for careers in the digital publishing industry. The content includes computer skills, digital publishing concepts and operations; layout design and measurement activities; and digital imaging. Digital Design 2(3) These courses continues to develop the basic entry level skills for careers in the digital publishing industry. The content includes computer skills; digital publishing operations, layout, design, and measurements activities; and digital imaging. Web Design 1 This course is designed to provide a basic overview of the Internet, and WWW. The content includes operating systems; basic HTML commands; navigation of the Internet; and Web page design. Web Design 2(3) This course is designed to provide advanced concepts for the internet, intranet and Web Design. The content includes internet/intranet tools, web site promotion, advanced HTML commands, advanced web page designs and multimedia applications.
