Personal, Career and Social Development Skills
Grade: 9 Length: 1 Semester
Prerequisite: None - 1/2 Credit

This course is a foundation for the practice of good study habits; and information processing skills will be acquired. Students will learn good note taking, time management, test taking, organization, listening, and critical thinking skills. Content is drawn from various subject areas.

American Government
Grade Level: 9 Length: 1 Semester
Prerequisite: None - 1/2 Credit

A working knowledge of American government and political behavior will be acquired through the analysis of those documents which shaped the design of our government and the evolution of the roles, rights, and responsibilities of citizens in this democracy.

World History
Grade Level: 10 Length: 1 Year
Prerequisite: Amer. Govt. - 1 Credit

A working knowledge of the contemporary world will be acquired through the examination of the significant cultural, geopolitical, and economic events which have altered human interrelationships.

US History
Grade Level: 11 Length: 1 Year
Prerequisite: World History - 1 Credit

A working knowledge of the contemporary American character will be acquired through the study of geopolitical, socioeconomic and cultural interrelationships significant to the American experience. Appropriate concepts and skills will be developed in connection with the content.

Economics
Grade Level: 12 Length: 1 Semester
Prerequisite: US History - 1/2 Credit

A working knowledge will be acquired of the way in which society organizes in order to allocate limited resources when satisfying unlimited wants. Students will explore the characteristics of the marketplace as they learn the role of consumers and producers in an economy.

Q American Government Honors
Grade Level: 9 Length: 1 Semester
Prerequisite: None - 1/2 Credit

A comprehensive knowledge of American government and political behavior will be acquired through the analysis and evaluation of those documents which shaped the design of our government. Students will evaluate the evolutionary role of rights and responsibilities in the democratic process. Strong reading and writing skills required.

Q World History Honors
Grade Level: 10 Length: 1 Year
Prerequisite: Amer. Govt. H - 1 Credit

A comprehensive knowledge of the significant cultural, geopolitical, and economic processes which have altered the course of history will be acquired. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the historical method, the inquiry process, historical reasoning, and interpretation and issues of internal and external validity.


Q US History Honors
Grade Level: 11 Length: 1 Year
Prerequisite: W History H - 1 Credit

A comprehensive knowledge of the contemporary American character will be acquired through the analysis of significant geopolitical, socioeconomic, and cultural interrelationships which define the American experience. Students will demonstrate understanding of historical methods, inquiry processes, historical reasoning and interpretation.

Q Economics Honors
Grade Level: 12 Length: 1 Semester
Prerequisite: US History H - 1/2 Credit

Students analyze the choices they must make as producers, consumers, investors, and taxpayers. The study of economics provides students with the knowledge and decision making tools necessary for understanding how society organizes its limited recourses to satisfy its unlimited want.
